This is a US government program run by the Office of Family Assistance (OFA). OFA oversees government grant programs designed to help families achieve economic stability and security.
They designed the TANF program to help low-income families become self-sufficient so they could care for their children at home.
Single mothers can apply for TANF Assistance to help cover the costs of basic needs like food, clothing, shelter, utilities, and transportation.
4. Cars4Heroes
Cars4Heroes is a nonprofit organization that provides free used vehicles to first responders, military veterans, and their families who are unable to move.
To apply, you must complete an application that includes your years of service, the branch of the armed forces or first responder in which you served, the reason for your need for the car, and some additional personal information.
They keep your application on file for three years after you submit it, so if you don't get one the first time, you might get one later.
5. Garage of good news
Another specific alternative place to get free cars is Good News Garage, which serves people in need in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont.
If you're interested in their state-funded Wheels to Work programs, make sure you meet the requirements of each state.
They also run a JumpStart program that helps those who don't qualify for Wheels to Work by providing "refurbished, donated cars to working adults at a reasonable, subsidized cost ."
Unfortunately, JumpStart is not accepting new applications at this time; however, you can check the website regularly to see if the application process has reopened.

6. Work vehicles for working families
Working Cars for Working Families is a program run by the National Consumer Law Center that aims to ensure that working families can "obtain, retain, and operate a reliable car on reasonable terms ."They work with a variety of groups to improve public policy, data collection, and advocacy for

7. Cars4Christmas
This organization gives free cars to single mothers. The same people who run Cars4Heroes run Cars4Christmas, except they provide free, basic transportation to everyone instead of just military veterans and first responders.
Sickness, death, tragedy, disability, and even natural calamities have turned people's lives upside down.
Each year, they receive more than 20,000 applications and deliver approximately 20 cars depending on contributions. Even if your chances of receiving a car through this pool are slim, you should still apply.
You may meet a private donor who is interested in your story, or connect with another group that may be able to help you with a specific need.

FreeCharityCars is a partnership between 1-800-Charity and FreeCharityCars that provides free cars to people in need.
